Studying and modeling to improve the system of a point absorber buoy for converting sea wave energy to support aquaculture in Binh Thuan province

In a previous paper, sea wave energy in the Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan) sea was studied using the point absorber method [1]. In this paper, we study and modeling to improve wave energy harvesting efficiency to support aquaculture in this sea area. We collected parameters of the wave energy in Phan Thiet sea in 2018 and combined them with the floating body dynamics equation for a point absorber buoy, we studied and analyzed the absorber dynamics equation with the aim of maximizing absorbed power by providing a natural period that is close to the predominant wave periods of the sea site for the poin

Effects of Thymelaea hirsuta crude extracts on gastric emptying and intestinal transit in mice: underlying mechanism of action

Thymeleae hirsuta (T. hirsuta) have been traditionally used for various medicinal purposes, including the treatment of inflammation, hypertension, and digestive disorders. This study aims to investigate the effects of decocted (DE) and hydromethanol (HME) extracts from T. hirsuta aerial parts on gastric emptying and intestinal transit in mice, as well as elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Gastric emptying and intestinal transit were assessed in mice following oral administration of DE and HME at different doses (125 mg/Kg, 250 mg/Kg, 500 mg/Kg). Pharmacological substances were used to explor

First detection and prompt pinpointing of pectinolytic bacteria causing blackleg and soft rot of potato in East-Algeria

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L) is a staple food considered as key factor in food and nutritional security, especially in developing countries and it is the target of many phyto-bacteriosis. Pectinolytic bacteria, responsible for blackleg disease and soft rot, are among the most destructive bacterial diseases in this crop worldwide. The present study is a substantial contribution to the survey of occurrence of pectinolytic Soft Rot Enterobacteriaceae (SRE) in Algeria. Isolation and identification of local strains were performed on potato plants recovered from EL-Harrouch district (north-east Alge

Phytochemical studies and Antifungal activity of leaves of Myrtus communis L. from Algeria

A chemical investigation of the leaves of Myrtus communis afforded three flavonoids, namely myricetin, myricetin-3-O-α–rhamnoside and myricetin-3-O- β- glucoside. The structures of the isolated compounds were established by chromatographic behavior and by means of UV, NMR and MS spectral analysis, as well as comparison with literature values. Moreover, the antifungal activity test was carried out on chloroform extract and essential oil of the leaves of Myrtus communis, using the direct contact method against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Lycopersici (FOL). Only essential oil showed an activit

Antioxidant, antihemolytic, antiinflammatory and analgesic Activities of flowers methanol extract of Malva sylvestris L

Malva sylvestris widely used in traditional medicine, is a kind of mallow derived from Malvaceae species and is recognized in Algeria as khoubaiz. This work focuses on the phytochemical study and evaluation of antioxidant, antihemolytic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of flowers methanolic extract of Malva sylvestris. The phytochemical analysis revealed that the extract is rich in polyphenols (74.26±18.70 µg EGA/g extract), and in tannins (18.98±1.33 µg EC/mg extract). The antioxidant activity was investigated by DPPH, ferrous iron chelation, reducing power and AAPH tests. Resu
