Impact of Azadirachtin on the sexual behaviour of Drosophila melanogaster (Diptera; Drosophilidae)

Chemical communication in the search for a sexual partner in insects is essentially based on sex pheromones. The vinegar fly, Drosophila melanogaster, is a laboratory model par excellence. We experimented with the toxic and sexual behaviour study of adults of D. melanogaster using a bioinsecticide from plants (Azadirachtin). When we treated the larvae of the second stage of the vinegar fly, and in this study, we identified all the stages of sexual behaviour of D. melanogaster. Finally, the treatment with this extract inhibits the secretions of the fermions (Cubiccular hydrocarbons). After expo

Effects of Density and Site Conditions on Growths of Rhizophora apiculata Plantations in Southern Vietnam

Increasing mangrove forest areas is set as an urgent action of many countries since the ecological and social importance of mangrove forest have been becoming awareness worldwide. In this study, forty-two 500-m2 plots were established in 15-year-old Rhizophora apiculata plantations in six different provinces, southern Vietnam for data collection. Growth parameters, mud depths, and salinities were measured in all plots. Stem density, stem diameter and height, height under crown, crown diameter, diameter of root system, and aerial root number were significantly affected by planting sites with th

Acacia tortilis subsp. raddiana is a medicinal and forest phanerophyte in the Tindouf region (Western Sahara, Algeria). The species constitutes a particular entity and a capital element in the balance and maintenance of arid and desert ecosystems as well as in the fight against desertification. We carried out a questionnaire which lasted two months with the inhabitants and the herbalists. The different taxonomic parts of the species: roots, leaves, pods, gum exudates and bark are very useful for medical, pastoral and commercial purposes. In medicine, Acacia tortilis subsp. raddiana is useful f

Impacts of Climate Factors on the Spread of COVID 19 Cases (Hospitalization Cases) in the Region of Annaba, Algeria

COVID-19 pandemic which has hit the world for more than two and half years now continues to be the focus of many research teams around the world given the real danger and threat experienced by the humanity. Climate is possibly a very important factor in the transmission of many respiratory diseases. This led us to conduct this study in which we explored the influence of different climatic factors; namely temperature (average, maximum, minimum), air pressure, humidity, total rain and/or snowmelt as well as the visibility on the spread of COVID 19 cases (hospitalization cases) in the state of An

The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus is increasing rapidly in industrialized countries, and adrenal glucocorticoids may intensify this disease. We sought to assess the relationship between diabetes-associated metabolic disturbances, cortisol concentrations and cholesterol levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. We investigated 80 women volunteered. The target population comprised 40 control And 40 with a type 2 diabetes. Clinical variables associated with diabetes were measured and correlated with cortisol concentrations and cholesterol levels. Stress will increase the cortisol levels.

Effect of household waste on soil fauna and soil quality, case of agricultural land in Guelma (Algeria)

The soil is the star of our planet. It feeds us, carries us, and protects us. Soil is an essential resource for man and his environment and one of the most important reservoirs of biodiversity. However, it is not a renewable resource on a human timescale. Unfortunately, it is subject to numerous anthropogenic stresses that degrade its physicochemical properties and can lead to the loss of essential functions. Among these anthropogenic stresses, household waste affects soil microorganisms and their quality. Thus, our study is directed at the effect of household waste on the soil fauna and soil

Institutional micro credit and technical efficiency of young small-scale root and tuber crop farmers

This study hypothesizes that socio-demographic factors have a significant effect on young farmers' credit users' technical efficiency by providing a numerical estimates of the level of productivity and technical efficiencies amongst for specific crops as an empirical basis for farm resources use planning. A multi-stage and stratified random sampling technique was used to collect and analyzed data with a dummy-type Cobb-Douglas (CD) stochastic frontier production function. The study showed that small-scale young micro-credit institutional users can manage the available resources at their dispos

Differential Detection of Domestic Pig and Wild Boar by Polymerase Chain Reaction

Adulteration of wild boar and pig meat products with other animal meat is a sensitive issue especially in Indonesia as a moslem country. Due to Economically Motivated Adulteration (EMA), adulterated halal meat products with wild boar and pig meat had raised widespread concern in recent years. Limited study of PCR-DNA-Based to discriminate between domestic pig and wild boar. The aim of this study to design species specific primer to determine wild boar in cytochrome-B gen region. Total 7 animals DNA (Wild boar, Pig, Cow, Sheep, Goat, Chicken, Fish) were extracted. Both conventional and Real Tim

How Pandemic Lockdown Affected Outdoor Marketing

The World Health Organization (WHO) proclaimed COVID-19, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Almost every country globally was put on lockdown as a result of this. The global pandemic caused by COVID-19 has such an enormous impact on our lives that we must research carefully to combat it. This study illustrates how the pandemic lockdown has changed outdoor marketing with implications on cinema and movie theaters, food security, the global economy, education, tourism, hospitality, sports/leisure, and environmental air polluti
