Performance of Self-Compacting Concretes Based on Mineral Additions and their Effect to Adhesion in Repair System

In the present article, a great deal of importance is attached to self-compacting concrete (SCC) based on mineral additions (natural pozzolan, blast furnace slag and limestone filler) as a new repair material, in order to determine its rheological and mechanical properties. Furthermore in this work, an experimental study was conducted to evaluate the bond strength (adhesion) between the repair material (SCC) and the ordinary concrete substrate (OC), in order to highlight the effect of mineral addition on the adhesion (Repair/Substrate) and to compare the adhesion of (SCC) with the adhesion of

Evaluation of the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of essentiel oil from the leaves of bitter orange citrus auruntium L in the region of Annaba in Eastern of Algeria.

Citrus aurantium is a tree belonging to the Rutaceae family known for the quality of its essential oils. The aim of this study is to enhance the essential oil (EO) extracted from the leaves of Citrus aurantium called “small bigarade grain”, through a physico-chemical characterization and the evaluation of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory powers in vitro. The extraction resulted in an essential oil yield of 0.30%. The extracted EO is liquid and clear of pale yellow color, fresh and of floral smell. It had a refraction index of 1,4784 and a density of 0.875. The chemical composition re

Application of DRASTIC method for determining the vulnerability of an alluvial aquifer: El Kala National Park North East of Algeria: using Arc GIS environment

The study of the vulnerability of water to pollution is a concept in perpetual change. The DRASTIC method [5], by the number of parameters taken into consideration, demonstrated that it was easy to work on the vulnerability of water to pollution because the information taken into consideration is the operator's responsibility, where its reliability as to the results obtained. To compensate for this weakness, many researchers have associated other parameters with the method DRASTIC. The objective of this work is to study the physico-chemical quality of natural waters in El Kala Park and to meas

Effect of solvent nature and polarity on phytochemical composition and antioxidant activity of white henbane (Hyoscyamus albus L.) endemic plant from Khenchela province (Algeria) and its identification by LC-MS

Hyoscyamus albus belongs to the endemic flora of Algeria. The abundance of bioactive substances in it contributes to its biological properties. Using two different polarity solvents, the goal of this study was to find out how polarity and extraction solvents affect the amount and quality of phytochemical compounds and their antioxidant activity. We conducted the quantitative and qualitative study using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Five tests evaluated the free radical scavenging activity of all extracts: DPPH, phosphomolibdate, β-carotene, reducing power, and H2O2. The LC-

Evaluation of Insecticidal Efficacy of Essential Oils derived from Myrtus communis L. and Rosmarinus officinalis L. against adult Aphis fabae (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

The black beans Aphid, Aphis fabae L. are very important pest species of many greenhouses and field plants in the world which causes damages through feeding on sap and transmitting viral diseases. In this research, the essential oils of medicinal plants: Myrtus communis L. (Myrtaceae) and Rosmarinus officinalis L. (Lamiaceae) were investigated for their fumigant toxicity and repellent activity against Aphis fabae L., under laboratory conditions. The LC50 values indicated that Rosmarinus officinalis L. oil exhibited higher toxicity with LC50 of 1.14 µL/cm³, whereas Myrtus communis L. showed
