Abstract : In order to evaluate the influence of water on the quality of irrigated soils, 16 parcels in the irrigated perimeter downstream of the Mellah and Seybouse wad is confluence have been followed throughout the flood and dry period (year 2020). Tenphysicochemical parameters were measured (T°, pH, EC, DO, BOD5, COD, PO4-, NH4+, NO2-, NO3-) and bacteriological (TG, TC and FC). The findings of surface water analyses show conductivity and SAR of the order of: (i) (EC=1.138 ds/m and SAR= 4.30) for the Seybouse wadi, (ii) (EC= 1.935 dS/m and SAR= 9.35)for the Mellah wadi. For surface water, the chemical facies is hyper calcium chloride or sulfated, the nitrogen and phosphate compounds are more important. And high densities of bacteria were observed in dry period. The results indicate that surface waters of Seybouse and Mellah river revealed a signs of degradation, since the majority of the analyzed parameters show higher levels of contamination.
