Abstract : The fight against desertification and the protection of steppe ecosystems have become priorities in Algeria through several management and restoration methods. The setting in defense is a technique that promotes natural regeneration, the most appropriate to induce the natural biological recovery of steppe species. Our study is based on a comparison of the vegetation of the zones of setting in defense in the commune of Ain Ben Khelil, Wilaya of Naâma in contrast with the bordering stations located outside the setting in defense. This area is characterized by an arid climate that favors the installation of a specific floral procession. At the end of this evaluation, the set aside has a positive impact in terms of biological recovery (increase in the vegetation cover rate, richness, and floristic composition).
