Abstract : This study hypothesizes that socio-demographic factors have a significant effect on young farmers' credit users' technical efficiency by providing a numerical estimates of the level of productivity and technical efficiencies amongst for specific crops as an empirical basis for farm resources use planning. A multi-stage and stratified random sampling technique was used to collect and analyzed data with a dummy-type Cobb-Douglas (CD) stochastic frontier production function. The study showed that small-scale young micro-credit institutional users can manage the available resources at their disposal for efficient farm production. Finally, this study validated that the role played by demographic characteristics cannot be overemphasized in small-scale roots and tubers crop farmers’ efficiency.
