Abstract : The experiment was carried out at greenhouse of Biopole of the University of Mentouri Brothers Constantine 1, during the 2019/2021 crop year. The main objective of this research is based on the study to analyze diversity of 2 Triticum species composed of three genotypes of Triticum durum Desf. (Waha, GTAdur and Capeti) and three genotypes of Triticum aestivum L. (Weebilli, Florence auroreand TSI/VEE…) before initiating the variability creation procedures to identify the potential of plant material before considering the necessary genetic manipulation. The results of descriptive sheets according to UPOV recommendations (2012-2013), showed diversity interspecific and inter varities studied on the majority of UPOV characters studied (anthocyanin pigmentation, pilosity, plant length…), and some characters shows not existence of diversity such as the glaucescence of the sheath and neck of the ear. According to the results obtained of phenology we find intraspecific variability of the two species studied, which classifies durum wheat genotypes into two groups and soft wheat genotypes in three groups:1st very early group with 144 days in the soft wheat variety Florence Aurore. 2nd early group with 151 days in the soft wheat weebilli variety and 130 days in the Waha durum wheat variety. 3rd moderately early group with 158 days in the soft wheat variety TSI / VEE. Finally, we can conclude that the diversity recorded between the varieties studied in the two species is a genetic reservoir that must be valued and enriched according to the desired objectives for the purpose of plant breeding.
